I’m Guy, a professional Chef by trade, living in beautiful Cape May, New Jersey. I have two amazing children, Roger and Sarah, and my better half, Mary Pat. I have been working professionally in the restaurant and catering industry for more than 30 years. With southern roots, I was born in Richmond, Virginia, and am an alumni of University of Tennessee. Hyatt trained in Food and Beverage Management, I had the privilege of catering the 1982 Worlds Fair. My career took me to beautiful Hilton Head Island and there I worked at many prestigious restaurants, such as the famous Alexanders Restaurant and Fratello’s, as well as Food and Beverage Director for American Inns and Restaurant Corporation of America. Along the way, I also created a small, fun catering business on Hilton Head Island where I was known as “The Catering Guy”.
In 1992, my family opened Cucina Rosa Restaurant in Cape May, named for my great grandmother, Rosa. I spent the next 22 years as Executive Chef and our specialty was classic Italian cuisine, popular with our local fans and Cape May visitors alike. Now, as private Chef Guy, my menu specialties will include the Cucina Rosa favorites as well as grilled meats, seafood and my southern-influenced menu. Although, I always say that my dream was to be a sportscaster, what I really love is cooking to make friends and family happy!
